is the "Christian Worldview" Winning?
Of particular interest is it's effective politicization and weaponization by the religious activists that have heavily influenced the Republican Party since Reagan. While the influence of this political Christian Worldview has slowly waxed since that time, my concern is that it has accelerated alarmingly over the last couple of years with the rise of Dominionist leaders at all levels of government who can effectively focus and harness it to force legislative and systemic change and the stoking of fear (most notably by this President) that this worldview is under concerted attack by Muslims, gays, Mexicans, independent women and atheists wielding a godless, globalist world view.
While this fear has been brewing since the 90s, it has been granted broader voice and political legitimacy recently due to social media and alternate news sources and their Republican champions in the Trump Administration. Combined with the recent weakening commitment to democratic institutions (thanks millennials) and the 1st Amendment protections of the non-religious, I'm not sure if this Dominionist tide will be easily checked.
